The  GIELLENERGY-TILE ®   is a patented photovoltaic tile – Made in Italy – conceived and designed to offer full architectural integration,
presented in 2010, it was the first PV roofing element, produced in Italy, to achieve recognition on the part of ‘ Italian body responsible for renewable energy (GSE) as an innovative photovoltaic   BIPV    Building Integrated photoVoltaic  ) .
The  GIELLENERGY-TILE ®  is made of thermoplastic resin with high mechanical and thermal characteristics and this enables it to support forms of heat that reach 200 ° C.
The photovoltaic component is achieved by 2 standard monocrystalline silicon cells 156×156 mm (6 “), encapsulated by EVA, all covered by photovoltaic glass with low iron content and high transmittance (> 92%), exactly like the common photovoltaic panels.
Unlike other similar products on the market, the photovoltaic portion is not positioned above the structure, but embedded within the resin frame. This allows the  GIELLENERGY-TILE ®  to be walked on (max 75 kg);  requirement very useful in during installation, as well as during periodic maintenance ( required for proper operation of the system, as for all other photovoltaic components).

The GIELLENERGY-Tile® on request can be produced in virtually identical colors and shades to the context where they are installed, such as natural parks, playgrounds, day care centers, schools, public buildings, so as to minimize the visual / environmental impact.
It is also possible to made them with self-extinguishing thermoplastic resins according to UL 94 – V0 / V1 / UNI 91730 where required.

The mechanical strength and weatherability of GIELLENERGY-Tile® Standard is higher than that of traditional terracotta tiles.
Indeed, it is tested to withstand a homogeneous load on the surface of 5,400 Pa and hailstones 25 mm hurled at > 83 km / h.

The GIELLENERGY-Tile® is designed and developed in such a way as to optimize the exposure to sunlight: in fact the shape of the tiles is such that the shadow areas are equal to zero in any time of day.

In any GIELLENERGY-Tile® it is inserted a by-pass diode in order to exclude only the element concerned without so block the continuity of the entire system, in case of failure, shading or malfunction,  avoiding the hot-spot phenomenon . In addition, the GIELLENERGY-Tile® is made so as to encourage maximum heat dissipation, so as to remain within the optimal operating range, being already prepared to facilitate ventilation. It’s known, in fact, that the performance of photovoltaic cells decreases with increasing temperature!

The GIELLENERGY-Tile® are compatible with all types of inverters, optimizers and components for accumulation on the market, including “Powerwall”.

All GIELLENERGY-Tile® models are electrically compatible between them. This is very helpful in recovering space on the roof in the presence of triangulated roofs, of fireplaces, velux, etc ..

After the installation does not notice any difference between the 3 different sizes (standard with 2 PV cells, Ultra with 4 PV cells and For-Four with 8 PV cells), thanks to the reproduction of the interspaces (unique on the market)

The GIELLENERGY-TILE ®  is aimed at realization of photovoltaic roofs with low environmental impact. E ‘for all those who care about the environment and energy conservation, without altering the landscape aspect. Each GIELLENERGY-TILE ®  at the end of life, after being separated from the photovoltaic cells, by the electrical components, which should be differentiated, it may be recycled to 95%, minimizing the production of waste. In addition, the GIELLENERGY-TILE ®  benefits from the deductions of 50% for the building renovation and up to 65% for energy upgrading.
